International Coach Federation Switzerland

Newsletter December 2019

Dear members and friends of ICF Switzerland,

The year 2019 is slowly coming to an end, and we are about to start the year end festivities.

Similarly festive, we held our Annual Event this year in Lausanne, on Friday, 29. November. We kicked off the day with a sold out Master class with Professor David Clutterbuck on the topic of ‘Making Change happen – The growing role of Coaching’. With examples from current research and a good dose of British humor David Clutterbuck delivered an insightful learning experience for the 70 or so participants.

We continued with our Annual General Meeting and shared with the present member community what we have accomplished over the year. Importantly, 4 board members stepped down – me among them – and 3 new board members were elected: My two year tenure as President of ICF Switzerland and my four years on the board have now come to an end and with me, Christine Billy, Saba Imru and Karin Meerhoff finished their terms. In the name of the entire ICFS community I’d like to thank all of them for their time and valuable contributions in the last years, and also extend a warm welcome to our newly elected board members Afsheen Ismail-Wey, Gillian Watson and Ingrid Salamon. It was wonderful to participate in the election of the new ICFS president, Elias Gharbi, who has been on the Board in 2019 as Vice President and with whom I worked closely. The ICFS community wishes him the best of successes and a wonderful experience!

After the AGM it was time to award the Swiss PRISM award. The purpose of this Award is to help promote high quality standards of professional coaching, by honouring organizations of all sizes and in all sectors that have enhanced their organizational performance through the deployment of coaching for culture change, leadership and people development, organizational productivity and performance improvement. The year the award was won by the UN EMERGE Program. EMERGE is a leadership development and coaching programme that promotes and develops Women Leaders with the aim to close the gender parity gap in the UN System. This Programme has been offered to Women Leaders and unites 11 UN agencies with a single vision. A big congratulation to everyone involved!

With this I’d like to close and wish all of you and your loved ones a very happy safe and peaceful festive season, and a happy 2020!
Knowing that we are united in our purpose to support the professional standards of coaching it has been a pleasure serving the Swiss ICF community as an active volunteer for the last 7 years.

To many great moments in the past, wishing all of you the very best for your future!

Warm regards,
Esther Goette.
