ICF Chapter Ticino – Workshop 29 aprile 2019

Positive psychology and life Coaching application in education and academia: insights for students, coaches, teachers, professors and parents.

Moderator: John Williams, MCC

To celebrate the International Coaching Week (ICW) the International Coach Federation (ICF) Switzerland Chapter Ticino have a guest visiting from the United States: John Williams, MCC. For this occasion we are inviting students, coaches, teachers, professors and parents to a brown bag lunch at “Il Litorale” - the newly inaugurated off-campus facility of Università della Svizzera italiana (USI).

"Litorale" (seaboard) is a term that suggests the joining of land and sea. It expresses permeability, but also a landing place - for the navigator seeking firm ground - and a beginning - for exploring new horizons. Il Litorale is an initiative of USI in the heart of Lugano, at the Quartiere Maghetti. A place where the academic and entrepreneurial worlds can gather in a friendly and informal environment, to develop an ecosystem that creates value by the effects of "cross-fertilisation".

John’s presentation offers an exploration and practical application of the latest theories of positive psychology and life Coaching in education. Starting with Carol Dweck's research into mindsets and looking at studies of elite athletes and academic performers, participants will gain an awareness of the state of the research as well as trends and patterns in the findings. Best for coaches, parents, teachers, professors and students.
