ETHICS in Coaching
Speaker: Dr. Ivo Wallimann-Helmer
Ethical principles are essential for the coaching profession. Decision making guided by and based on ethical foundations results in higher performance and positive relationships at the workplace as well as in our daily lives. To emphasize and demonstrate the importance of ethics, ICF added the ethics component to credential renewal requirements.
It is worth noting that since the beginning of this year, ICF Credential-holders are required to demonstrate completion of at least three (3) Continuing Coach Education (CCE) units in the area of coaching ethics.
The aim of this session is to enable participants to identify and to resolve ethical challenges in a systematic and well-informed way and to reflect upon the ICF code of ethics.
The session does so by providing
- a short introduction to ethics and its core principles
- a tool to identify and analyze ethical challenges,
- time to analyze and discuss cases from your own coaching practice.
After this course participants will be able
- to analyze and decide ethical challenges,
- to systematize ethical tasks against the background of ethical principles,
- to integrate ethics as part of their coaching practice.
At the end of the workshop you will get an opportunity to share your insights with the group during a take-away round.
