It's been about 2 months since the World Health Organization (WHO) declared the outbreak of COVID-19 a pandemic and the disruptions to our working lives will have affects for an unforeseeable time.
- Extension of entitlement to loss of earnings allowance to cases of hardship – financialsupport for independent workers such as Coaches in Switzerland.
In joint collaboration with EMCC Switzerland, ICF Switzerland has requested the FDEA - Federal Department of Economic Affairs - on whether independent professional coaches and mentors are entitled to compensation.
The Federal Council confirmed that this has been addressed and extended the emergency measures for the self-employed on April 16, 2020.

- ICF Membership Renewal Deadline extended to end of August
ICF Global has changed the timeline for 2020 ICF Membership Renewals. If you are not able to renew the yearly ICF membership before 30. June, there is an addition 2 months grace period. This gives you financial flexibility and time until the end of August. However, should you be able to renew now as planned, we are very grateful for you support in a time where we have less possibility to generate income from events and sponsorships.
- ICF Membership Dues Installment Payment option available
Installment payments are now available for coaches who have not yet renewed their ICF Membership. To be eligible for installment payments, you must submit their renewal application, select the installment payment option and make your first payment by June 30, 2020. Half of the renewal fee dues right away. Your credit card will be charged for the second half of their payment 90 days after the first payment.
The installment payment option will be available through June 30, 2020. From July 1–August 31, 2020, coaches will still be able to renew their ICF Membership; however, they will have to pay their annual dues upfront in full.
- Covid-19 Pandemic: Temporary measures related to Credentialing
The ICF Credentials and Standards Global Board has approved three temporary measures to support coaches on their professional development journeys during the Covid-19 crisis. These changes went into effect April 9, 2020, and will remain in place through December 31, 2020.
Capping Continuing Coach Education Requirements for Lapsed Credential-holders.Extending Client Coaching Experience Recency Requirements for ACC and PCC Applicants.
Increasing Eligible Number of Pro Bono Hours.ICF Global has also adjusted its costs of Professional Development opportunities to help Coaches. There are now more free and lower-cost options for earning Continuing Coach Education units (CCEUs) available.
