Workshop description & biography of workshop leader

James Jennings created insights that helped over 35,000 coaches and millions of their clients when he was working with Weight Watchers International. Weight loss is a coaching business that helps its members with one of the most difficult aspects of personal change. As the result of his work, clients were more successful, attendance increased and the business was set on a growth path that lasted ten years

The insights that were fundamental to the turnaround at Weight Watchers are not unique to weight management – they apply to many coaching businesses. If fact, as a coach you may already know many of the elements. In this workshop, James will guide you to take what you have as a coach and apply it to attracting clients and building your business.

Using questions and a dramatic arc, you will learn how to help potential clients understand they need you and build a sense of urgency so that they act sooner. You will learn how to engage with potential clients so they don’t get defensive and so they choose you instead of a competitor. By learning how not to take “no” personally, you will be able to be more calm and confident as you build your coaching practice.

For 25 years as a line manager and consultant, James helped companies in many industries grow by creating insights that change what is possible including AT&T, BMW NA, Chrysler, Keurig/Green Mountain, Fortis, Hilton Hotels, ITT Sheraton, Xerox and companies in renewable energy, telecommunications, energy utilities, healthcare and automotive services. Educated at Cornell University’s Johnson Graduate School of Management and the Hochschule St Gallen, James combines highly analytic and systems thinking to find things that other have missed.
